Delete your account, and it is really gone

Deleting your account now waits a few days so one link can stop it, then reaches beyond your journal: billing and email too.

Deleting an account is the one button that cannot be undone, and the person pressing it is not always you. I wanted it to be safe from a stolen password, and then, once it happens, to be complete.

So deleting is now a request with a wait. When you press Delete my account, every device is signed out and every connected app is disconnected, but nothing is deleted yet. You get an email with one link, Keep my account, and signing in and pressing the same button works too. If nobody does, everything is deleted after a few days.

It also reaches further now. From the moment you ask, Pensio stops reading your entries for their feelings. A subscription bought on the website is cancelled when the account goes; one from the App Store or Google Play is billed by Apple or Google, so the delete screen shows where to cancel it. You are removed from the service that sends Pensio's emails. And if our analytics provider refuses to erase your profile, Pensio keeps a note so the erasure can be finished, instead of forgetting it.

Deleting a single Explore conversation also removes the copies Pensio kept behind the scenes, not only the one you see.

Open Settings, then Account, and find Leaving.
