A journal is years of someone's life, and I never want Pensio to be the place it gets stuck. If you leave, or just want a copy on your own computer, it should come with you whole.

So Download your journal gives you everything in one ZIP. Every entry becomes a Markdown file, with its date, mood and feelings in a short header that Obsidian, Logseq or any text editor can read. Drafts get a folder of their own. Photos and voice recordings come as files, linked from the place they sat in each entry, and a spoken entry keeps its words first and the recording after. Your people and your weekly and monthly reflections come along too.

Before the download starts, Pensio asks you to confirm it is you, and your security log notes every download. The ZIP is made when you ask for it and downloads straight away; it is never sent by email. You can download it as often as you like.

Open Settings, then Your journal, and choose Download your journal.
