Ask your own AI assistant about your journal

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Visual Studio Code or Cursor, choose how much of your journal it may read, and ask it about your writing. It can only read. On Pro.

The Pensio window asking how much an assistant may read, with three choices and Short excerpts from entries picked.

I already talk to an AI assistant most days, and I kept pasting bits of my journal into it to ask about them. That felt wrong twice over: tedious, and more than I meant to share.

Since October 11, you can connect it instead. Choose Connect an AI assistant (MCP), pick your assistant and follow the steps: there are steps for Claude, ChatGPT, and the code editors Visual Studio Code and Cursor. Pensio then asks how much it may read: totals and trends only, short excerpts, or full entry text. After that, you ask your assistant about your own writing, and it looks things up in your journal.

It can only read. It cannot write an entry, edit one or delete anything, and Pensio refuses if it tries. It never sees your drafts or your private notes about other people. But be clear about the trade: what it reads leaves Pensio and reaches your assistant's company, where it is handled under their terms, not ours. You can choose Read less, or stop it, at any time.

Connecting an assistant is on Pro. Open Settings, then Connected apps.
