Pensio on Your Watch: Journal a Feeling in One Tap

A feeling often comes when your phone is out of reach. Your watch keeps it before it goes, and your journal has it when you are back.

Benefits

A feeling in one tap

The same feelings Quick capture offers, as stones on the watch face. A feeling alone is a complete entry.

Say it, then a feeling

Press, talk, stop. The recording becomes a voice entry, and How did it feel? lets you add a feeling to it.

No connection needed

A feeling or a line made offline waits on the watch and is sent later, with the moment you made it.

Adds, never reads

Nothing you wrote appears on the watch, and a lost watch holds none of it. Stop it from Settings at any time.

Pensio on your watch

A feeling in one tap, a thought in one press, from your Apple Watch or Wear OS watch

A feeling or a thought often comes when your phone is in a pocket or a bag. On your watch, one tap keeps a feeling and one press keeps what you say, before it goes. Your watch can add to your journal, and it cannot read it.

An example

How it works, on the way out of a meeting
You tap Anxious on your watch, then Add a line: “It went better than I feared.”
  • On the watch a tap and a line
  • In your journal one entry

One entry is in your journal with the feeling and the line, at the minute you tapped, ready to read on your phone. Nothing you wrote appears on the watch.

What you can do

Link it without typing a password
Apple Watch: open Pensio on the watch while the Pensio app on your iPhone is signed in, and the iPhone links it. Wear OS: the watch shows a code and an address. Open that address on your phone or computer, signed in, type the code and confirm.
Keep going without a connection
A feeling or a line made offline waits on the watch, which shows how many are waiting, and is sent when it is back online, with the moment you made it. One kept longer than 30 days is not accepted.
Sign out on the watch
At the end of the screen, under Signed in as, Sign out asks first, sends what is waiting while it still can, and stops the watch's access. Anything still waiting after that is lost. The watch stays signed out until you tap Pair again.
Stop a watch from your phone
Settings, Connected apps lists each watch with Stop it beside it, and signing out everywhere stops every watch too. Pairing a watch sends you an email with a button that stops it.

How It Works

1

Link the watch

Apple Watch: open Pensio on the watch while the iPhone app is signed in. Wear OS: type the code the watch shows on your phone or computer. No password on the wrist.

2

Tap a feeling, or say it

A ring runs for a few seconds after a tap, with Undo and Add a line. Say it records until you press Stop.

3

Read it on your phone

Every tap, line and recording is an ordinary entry in your journal, at the minute you made it, part of your reflections.

Use Cases

For the moments your phone is not in your hand.

Between two meetings

A feeling in one tap before the next door opens, and the words later if you want them.

On a walk or a run

Say what you are thinking without stopping to take a phone out.

Somewhere without signal

Taps and lines wait on the watch and arrive when it is back online.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a journaling app for the Apple Watch?
Pensio has one. Tap a feeling, add a line by dictation, or press Say it to record a voice entry. It all lands in the journal you read on your phone or computer.
Does Pensio work on Wear OS?
Yes. The Wear OS app does what the Apple Watch app does, and it links with a code you type on your phone or computer.
Can someone read my journal on my watch?
No. The watch can add to your journal and cannot read it, so nothing you wrote ever appears on the watch face.
Does Pensio guess my mood from my heart rate?
No. Pensio never reads a feeling from a sensor. A feeling is only ever one you chose.
Is it free?
Tapping feelings and adding lines are free. Voice entries share your monthly allowance with your phone; Pro gives you more, and the watch points you to your phone to see it.
It can add to your journal, but cannot read it
Nothing you wrote ever appears on the watch, so a watch face anyone can see shows none of it, and a lost watch holds none of it. It knows your email address, to show whose watch it is.
Say it needs a connection to start
So that a recording is never made that could not be kept. Once started, a lost connection does not lose it: the recording waits on the watch until it can be sent.
Voice entries count toward your month
A recording from the watch counts like one from your phone. When the month's are used, the watch says when they come back and offers Pro on your phone. Nothing is bought on the watch.
Your feelings are never read from your body
The watch does not use your pulse or any other sensor to guess how you feel. A feeling is only ever one you chose.
No Explore and no streak on the watch
Long answers and your writing do not belong on a wrist, and Pensio has no streak to protect anywhere.
