Voice Journaling: Speak Your Entry, Keep the WordsComing soon
On the days when typing is the thing in the way, talk. The entry that comes back is ordinary text you can edit, search and ask about.
Coming soon: it is built, and a small group is trying it before it opens to everyone. Start free now and it will turn up in your account.
Benefits
Record, then read it back
Up to ten minutes a recording. The transcript lands in the entry as text: editable, searchable, read by Explore and your reflections like anything you typed.
Your recording, your call
Drop the audio the moment the words arrive, keep it for a while, or keep it. The transcript never expires; only the audio does.
Nothing read from your voice
The recording becomes text, and from then on only the text is read. Nothing is worked out from how you sound.
Transcribed under zero retention
The audio goes to a transcription service that keeps nothing, through the same zero-retention route as every AI call Pensio makes.
Voice Journaling
Say it instead of typing it. The words are yours to keep; the recording is yours to drop
On the days when writing is the thing standing in the way — walking, driving, too tired to type — speaking is the difference between an entry and no entry. The words are still yours afterwards: they are ordinary text you can edit, search and read back.
An example
“Ben said he saw me go quiet and understood why. Not a question, not a judgment. Just an observation.”
- Kept for good the words
- Yours to keep or drop the recording
By the time you are back at your desk the words are in your journal as an ordinary entry — searchable, editable, part of your reflections. If you asked for the recording to go once it was written down, the audio is already gone and the words are not.
What you can do
- Edit what it heard
- The transcript is ordinary entry text. Fix a name it misheard, or cut the part where you lost your thread.
- Delete every recording you hold, in one go
- In Settings. Every recording goes; every word of every transcript stays.
- Take the recordings with you
- Your export contains the audio as well as the words.
How It Works
Press Record in the composer
Talk for up to ten minutes. The clip is saved to the entry, up to 15 MB.
The words arrive
Pensio transcribes it in the background and the text lands in the entry, in the language you spoke.
Edit it like any entry
Fix a word, add a line. Search, emotions, reflections and Explore read the text, never the audio.
Decide what happens to the recording
In Settings: discard it as soon as it is written down, keep it for twelve months on Free, or keep it on Pro. A change applies to the next recording, not the last one.
Use Cases
Five voice entries a month on Free, unlimited on Pro. The audio counts against the same 250 MB or 5 GB as your photos.
Journaling on the move
Walking, driving, or too tired to type: five minutes of talking is an entry you would not otherwise have written.
Private voice journaling
The recording can be gone the moment the words exist. What stays is text, in your account, in your export.
Voice without the summaries
Pensio does not boil the recording down to bullet points. You get your own words, and everything else works on them.
