Explore: AI That Knows Your Journal
A chat interface that queries your full journal history — not keyword search, but structured intelligence.
Benefits
17 Intelligence Functions
Search by emotion, person, theme, time period, text, and more. Compare periods, find patterns, traverse connections.
5 Advisor Personalities
Reflective Guide connects dots. Life Coach holds you accountable. Analyst shows the numbers. Mindfulness Guide slows down. Journaling Coach deepens your writing.
Persistent Memory
Remembers facts and preferences you share across sessions. It learns your context over time.
Entry & People References
Type @ to reference a person or # to reference a specific entry. The AI gets full context instantly.
Explore
Chat with an AI that knows your entire journal
It answers from your own words. Not a chat with your journal pasted in: it searches what you wrote, quotes it back, and shows you which entries each answer came from.
An example
“How has it been with David this year?”
- It read 16 entries
- Advisor Reflective Guide
It searches the entries that mention him, sixteen across the year from the first-day call to the therapy session, and answers from what you wrote, with each entry listed under Sources so you can open it.
What you can do
- Ask anything about your writing
- In your own words. It searches your entries, your people and your reflections, and answers from what you wrote. When there is nothing there, it says so.
- Start from an entry
- At the end of any entry: two questions drawn from it, or take the entry into Explore yourself.
- Point it at a person or an entry
- Type @ for a person, # for an entry. It reads them first.
- Choose who answers
- Five advisors, the Reflective Guide by default. Two on Free, all five on Pro.
- Open where an answer came from
- Every answer lists its sources. Each one is your entry, a tap away.
- Keep, find or delete a conversation
- Deleting one also forgets everything it taught Memory.
- Correct what it learned
- It writes to Memory while you talk. Memory is where you correct, set aside or forget any of it.
How It Works
Write a journal entry
Use the web editor or sync from Obsidian. Write about your day, a decision, a relationship — anything on your mind.
Ask a question
Open the Explore chat and ask something like "Why do I keep procrastinating?" or "How have I been feeling about work this month?"
Get grounded answers
The AI searches your journal using 17 structured query functions — finding relevant entries, emotions, patterns, and people mentions. Every answer is grounded in your own words.
Go deeper
Reference a specific entry with # or a person with @. Switch between advisor personalities for different perspectives. The AI remembers your conversation context across sessions.
Use Cases
The Explore AI advisor is designed for deep self-reflection — here are common ways journalers use it.
Anxiety journaling
Ask your AI advisor to find patterns in anxious entries. See which triggers recur, what time of day anxiety peaks, and what coping strategies actually worked in the past.
Relationship reflection
Ask "How do I feel about Sarah?" and get an answer drawn from months of journal entries mentioning that person — including emotional trends and key moments.
Personal growth tracking
Ask the AI to compare how you wrote about confidence six months ago vs. today. See your growth reflected back in your own language.
